Forage Bone Content
Updated over a week ago

We don’t have bone contents for complete products as 'bone content' is a crude measure and the actual scientific analysis of calcium phosphorus (Ca:P) ratio is much more useful and is how completeness is determined - this figure is published on the packaging of all Forage products and we are rolling it out currently on all Original Range packaging as well.

Bone content is not particularly useful barometer on complete foods given the variation of one bone to another, soft pliable chicken bone and harder venison bone for example would have differing calcium levels for the same amount weight wise.

So the complete Forage recipes are formulated on actual calcium and phosphorus values. Ca:P ratios for complete food should be between 1:1 and 2:1 but more optimally up to 1.4:1 of which all of ours are.
